Honouring the POWs of the Thai-Burma Death Railway – 80 Years On
This powerful hard enamel pin commemorates 80 years since the sacrifice of the Allied prisoners of war who suffered and died building the infamous Death Railway during WWII.
The design features three Australian POWs in slouch hats, toiling on the railway — a moving tribute to strength, mateship, and survival under unimaginable conditions. A striking red enamel poppy rests at the base, with a splash of red across the track symbolising the blood and lives lost.
Above them, the words “LEST WE FORGET” are raised in bold antique brass — a solemn and enduring reminder.
